Assignment: Being a human is complex. Create TWO or more pieces using clone photography that examine the complexity of being human.
Some Specific Prompts (if needed): Option 1: Explore of the idea of “self” and the idea of a person meeting many versions of themselves like the work of Daisuke Takakura. Option 2: Stage a situation where you had (or would have) multiple reactions or feelings in response to the situation. Option 3: Recreate a memory or dream where you are all the characters. Think about changing or altering the outcome by adding or subtracting 'selves'.

Schedule (5 days): 1/22 - Clone Practice Image 1/24 - Clone Practice Image DUE 1/28 - Research and Brainstorm DUE 3/2 - Work Day (building props, costumes, making investigations or taking pictures) 3/6- Work Day 3/8 - Final Photos and Reflection Entry DUE
Clone Practice Image 1. Watch the ‘How To’ video. It is located in Photo 3 --> Resources --> Clone Photos 2. Go to a location. Set camera on tripod. Take 4-6 images of yourself moving or doing different things in that space so you can make a practice clone image. When you are taking the pictures, try to make sure that you do not overlap a position that you have already taken. You may want to bring tape to mark your position. 3. Read through the tutorial and make a clone image using the photos that you just took.
Research and Brainstorm: Research Check out the artists and links in the inspiration artist section. below. Create a journal spread where you
Print out2 images by each artists that are examples of our class assignment.
Explain what concepts or themes each artist uses in their clone photography.
Find 2 other examples of clone photography that you find interesting. Explain what the concepts are behind the piece.
Brainstorm: Sketch and write a detailed description of TWO ideas for this piece. Please be sure to explicitly state how you are addressing the complexity of being human.
